Huang Shun-Ting
Huang Shun-Ting was born in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1990. He received his MFA degree in Fine Arts, specializing in painting, from the Taipei National University of the Arts in 2015. He is currently studying in the Doctoral Program in Art Creation and Theory, Tainan National University of the Arts. Huang mainly creates paintings, sculpture, installation and mixed media works. His works often embody humor and playfulness, using homophones and puns to reinterpret symbols in his paintings. In recent years, his works have focused on several themes, including consumer culture, local beliefs, value systems, secular aesthetics and personal desires, aiming to intertwine these elements to create a local cultural landscape and build a path that responds to the essence of art.
Huang won the 2D media first prize of the "Nanying Award" and the excellent prize of the "TDCC Art Award- Vision Taiwan" in 2024, was selected for the "CTBC Painting Prize" in 2021, received the third prize of the "TDCC Contemporary Arts Award," and was selected for "The 8th Grand View Emerging Artists Award" in 2020. Additionally, he was selected for the "Made in Taiwan" program at Art Taipei 2016 and the "International Residency Exchange Program of Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts" in the same year. His paintings have been collected by the White Rabbit Gallery in Sydney, Australia; Art Bank; the Taiwan Taoyuan District Court; and the Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation.
